Huge progression at Silverstone this weekend in the Vertu Motors 2023 Mini Challenge.
A poor qualifying was worrying as the pace was just not there at all however, going into race 1 it all started to come together and managing to keep up and spend the rest of the weekend battling with the pack was great. Race two was similar however having to pull it back from a poor start, yet getting back onto the pack was quick and a lot of side by side action kept the race interesting.
Race three we were starting in P20 and a great start led to positions being gained however I struggled to keep up and ended up slipping back into P22. Not ideal, however, to come away from a weekend with P22 being disappointing is a huge achievement compared to the earlier rounds.
Important things learnt from this weekend was that I definitely need to look at my results more positively, there’s always potential and I need to realise where these results have come from and the fact that these are only going to continue to improve.
Of course I want to continue to try get back those positions going into Brands Hatch, however there’s a long time until then but we hope to finish the season on a high!
